Founding Computer Vision & Fullstack Engineer (m/w/d)

We are looking for an experienced software engineer who is ready to work hands-on on our computer vision pipeline and SaaS platform, while also taking on technical leadership in the long term and building an engineering team. This role offers a unique opportunity to shape product development from the ground up and define the technical vision of an emerging startup.

• Direct collaboration with the founders to shape the product roadmap and translate customer needs into features.
• Further development of our computer vision pipeline: training, optimization, and deployment of object detection models (YOLO, etc.).
• Ownership of our DevOps setup: CI/CD pipelines, deployments, monitoring, and cloud infrastructure (AWS, Docker, GitHub Actions).
• Development and maintenance of the full stack of our SaaS platform with a focus on React + NestJS.
• Design, implementation, and operation of backend services and APIs.
• Work on computer-vision-based product features, including visualization and editing using Fabric.js and Canvas.
• Responsibility for scalability, security, and performance from day one.
• Building and leading the engineering team as the technical leader.
• Defining engineering best practices, code standards, and development processes.
• Making technical architecture decisions and planning the roadmap together with the founding team.
• Mentoring and developing team members.

• 7+ years of professional experience in software development, including at least 4 years in a full-stack role.
• Proven experience with computer vision and deep learning, particularly with object detection frameworks such as YOLO, Detectron2, or comparable technologies.
• Startup experience: you have worked in an early-stage startup (Seed to Series A) and understand what it means to iterate quickly, take ownership, and operate in uncertainty.
• Strong expertise in React + NestJS and solid backend experience (Node.js, TypeScript).
• Experience with Python for ML/CV workloads.
• Hands-on experience with AWS (ECS, Fargate, S3, RDS, SageMaker, or similar) as well as Infrastructure as Code.
• Familiarity with DevOps and CI/CD workflows (GitHub Actions, Docker, monitoring, testing).
• Comfortable working across the entire stack: frontend, backend, databases, ML pipelines, and cloud infrastructure.
• Leadership potential: motivated to build a team and take on technical responsibility in the medium term.
• Proactive, solution-oriented mindset with the ability to work independently and a strong sense of ownership.
• Based in Berlin or the surrounding area, willing to work at least two days per week with the team in a local co-working hub.

Nice to have:

• Experience building SaaS products from scratch.
• Knowledge of or interest in computer vision libraries (e.g. Fabric.js, Canvas).
• Experience with database design (preferably PostgreSQL).
• Interest or affinity for AI and manufacturing technology.
• Experience in a startup or scale-up environment.
• Familiarity with security best practices for cloud-based SaaS.
